Hans R Bolliger Memorial Lecture
Hans R Bolliger Memorial Lecture – Established 1977
Hans Bolliger's popular leadership of SCI is commemorated in this Memorial Lecture.
Bolliger's 23-year career with the famous CIBA Group was focused on the research, development and production of dyestuffs. The products he developed and distributed helped to change the world of formation and finishing. Samples of yarns and fabrics dyed with Clayton Products are now held in an archive in the Heriot-Watt University Archives, Edinburgh, UK.
The Hans R Bolliger Memorial Lecture was originally a joint award of the then SCI Manchester Section and the SCI Health and Safety Group. This medal is just one example of collaboration between SCI Groups, and also illustrates a way in which exceptional individuals, those of long service to the Society and widely respected by their peers are remembered by SCI today. The award is currently administered by SCI's Liverpool and North West Group.
