Canada International
There is no doubt that in Canada, communications between individuals from industry, and chemists and chemical engineers from academia and government need to be improved a great deal. To help accomplish this we hold a large annual dinner in February, which is well attended by a broad cross-section of people, from presidents of large corporations, and chairs of university and government research labs, to university students. In addition, we hold two or three regional meetings a year at which representatives from the three sectors present papers, and debate industry/science interface issues.
A second major activity of ours is to grant awards for excellence to our leaders from industry, academia and government, and also to many of our best university students.
