BioResources Early Career Network

students

The BioResources Group is creating an Early Career Network for, and run by, younger members studying or researching in universities and industry.

The Network aims to provide face-to-face and online opportunities for career development and to increase and widen scientific and business knowledge related to agrisciences and associated technologies.

All aspects of agricultural productivity for food, biofuels and energy, biomaterials and natural products will be covered as within the scope of the BioResources Group.

Following the success of our Young Researchers conferences at the University of Reading in 2010 and 2011, we are planning a similar multidisciplinary event on 3 July 2012 covering all aspects of crop production, the processing and use of bioproducts, and sustainability. Oral paper and poster prize winners from previous events are shown below:

Join us
We are looking for more people to get involved in leading and organising the Network. Joining the leadership team means committing some time, but not too much, and for this you will benefit from the experience of leadership, teamwork and organisational skills that will look good on CVs. You will meet useful people and extend your knowledge and awareness for career and professional development.

Alternatively, you can get involved by becoming an ambassador for BioResources Group and the Early Careers Network at your university or other organisation to promote our activities and feedback ideas.

As always, non-members will be very welcome at our events, but to access the wide range of SCI member benefits you will need to join the Society and BioResources Group.
