Food Commodities and Ingredients
One of the largest Technical Interest Groups in SCI, the Food Commodities and Ingredients Technical Interest Group applies a multidisciplinary approach to the science and technology of food commodities and ingredients. Its wide ranging interest areas reflects the range of the Members - from physicists, chemists and microbiologists to nutritionists, sensory analysts, from food producers and manufacturers, to policy makers and students.
The Group provides a forum to disseminate research and latest technical development and application to the relevant industries. It also provides networking opportunities for people involved in the food industry around the world. The Group actively encourages secondary and university-level students to take up careers in food science and technology through its career symposia.
