Chair's Message
As Vice Chairman of the SCI Materials Chemistry Technical Interest Group, I wish welcome you to our redesigned webpages. The importance of Materials Chemistry has never been greater and our Group and its Members are set to meet the scientific and industrial challenges that lie ahead. We expect to see continued major contributions to research and, in some ways more importantly, to aid the best ideas to become embodied into technologies and wealth creation. After all, SCI is where science meets business, and Materials Chemistry has a huge contribution to make, both to the national and international economy and to our way of life. I have only to think of our contributions to recent advances in healthcare, electronics and pollution control to know that our role is a pivotal one. Members may also be interested in our sister group, the Construction Materials Group.

The webpages also contains information about our newsletter. Please feel free to contact me or another committee member if you have suggestions as to how we can be more effective or if you wish to take a more active role in our group.
