Process Engineering
Process engineering is a major feature of production in almost all science-based industry. The Group's major interests include process economics, environmental, health and safety issues and instrumentation and control. The wide remit of the Group can be summarised into five main aims:
- Promote the practices and principles of process engineering in the chemical and allied processing industries
- Provide a 'meeting place' for the discussion of the interrelationships of process and equipment design particularly in the energy, chemical, pharmaceutical, petroleum, biochemical, food and natural product industries
- Promote the application of academic research and development in these fields
- Provide encouragement and assistance where possible to students and young professionals
- Improve public understanding of the chemical and process industries, their products and contribution to the health and economic well-being of the population
These aims are primarily achieved through the Group's series of conferences and meetings throughout the year.
