Horticulture Group AGM and David Miller Award Presentations

The Horticulture Group will be holding their group's AGM and David Miller Award Presentations on the 19 September at SCI, London.

After a brief AGM to review the last year and plans for the coming year and elect a Committee this meeting will hear presentations by three winners of David Miller Travel Bursary Awards:

Antje Fiebig from the University of Lancaster will describe her project on 'Feedback regulation of irrigation via soil moisture monitoring and its implication on plant growth and physiology' and what she achieved by attending this year's ISHS Congress in Brisbane.

Sebastian Eves-van den Akker from the University of Leeds will describe his project entitled 'How can highly specialised endo-parasites have such broad host ranges?' and what he learned from attending the International Congress on Molecular Plant-Microbe Interactions in Rhodes, Greece.

Amanda Livermore from Reading University will update the meeting on her work on 'A Bioassay for aphid pathogenic bacteria' and her experiences visiting a laboratory which has developed a new bioassay technique in Tunisia.
