SCI Members' Lounge and Business Centre

There have been a number of changes to tenancies at our London Belgrave Square headquarters recently.
Canning House, which promotes links between the UK and Latin America and Iberia, will soon take up space on the second floor, the Members' Lounge and, when it becomes vacant, the fourth floor.
The letting was approved by Trustees on the basis of the importance of the lease income to SCI and the fact that we have agreed flexible arrangements which enable us to use the space on up to 20 occasions at no charge and the ability to hire back the lounge if required for additional use.
As many of you will be aware, the Members' Lounge has been used less and less by our members as business practices have changed. Most members prefer to use our Business Centre which includes computers, free wifi, meeting tables and lounge chairs.
We will refurbish the Business Centre in keeping with the heritage style of the building and to make it suitable to accommodate the historical SCI books, documents and mementoes currently in the Members' Lounge. We will still provide computer facilities and meeting tables.
The Members' Lounge will be used by Canning House from December 2011. We are already seeking advice on options for refurbishing the Business Centre and will provide members with more details once the works have been agreed.
