Scholar's Lunch: 18 March, Belgrave Square, London, UK
The
Scholars Lunch 2005 took place at SCI International
HQ in Londons Belgrave Square on 18 March 2005.
The annual event allows past and present recipients of the
SCI Messel and John Gray Scholarships to meet and network
with other young scholars, as well as to meet key SCI staff
and members of the Awards Committee, which is chaired by Diane
Brown.
The scholarships, of which there are three per year, consist
of a grant of GB£1000 per year for a period of up to
three years, with free membership of SCI during the tenure.
They are awarded following an annual competition in August
between graduates who are about to begin higher degrees in
chemistry, chemical engineering or related subjects.
Competition for the awards is high, and recipients can be
sure that an SCI Gray or Messel Scholarship will be a worthy
and prestigious addition to their CV/resumé.
The SCI scholars gather on the steps of Belgrave Square and
Diane Brown, Awards Committee Chair, presents Thomas Snaddon
with the Gray Scholarship
