Robin Ganellin
SCI member wins plaudits
SCI member Professor Robin Ganellin has recently been appointed as a foreign corresponding academician to the Spanish Royal Academy of Pharmacy.
He has also received the Pratesi gold medal from the medicinal chemical division of the Societa Chimica Italiana in Florence. He was conferred with the award at the annual meeting of the Italian Chemical Society on 11 September 2006 where he gave a lecture entitled ‘An academic’s approach to drug design’.
The medal is presented to a medicinal chemist of international renown and was previously presented, for the first time, to Corwin Hansch, ‘the father of QSAR’, in 2003.
