Messel and Gray Scholarships

£5000 over 2 years!

studentSCI’s Messel and Gray fund is offering a grant of £5000 for graduates approaching their second year of research for a UK PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering and related subjects.

Usually, up to three scholarships are awarded each year. However, in 2007 we are pleased to extend our scheme by increasing the number of scholarships to be awarded. The grant is towards the cost of study over two years.

Recognition as a SCI scholar can be an important addition to a student’s CV, providing successful applicants with excellent career prospects, international networking opportunities and the chance to become a part of SCI’s global inter-disciplinary membership.

The closing date for completed applications is 30 April 2007. If you wish to apply, please apply online via the Messel Scholarship and John Gray Scholarship pages or contact:

  • The Messel and Gray fund, established in 1920, was endowed by a bequest of Rudolf Messel, a founding member and president of SCI, and John Gray, a former SCI president.
