AstraZeneca jumps on board with SCI

SCI’s corporate partner scheme is going from strength to strength with the addition of AstraZeneca, one of the world’s top-ranking pharmaceutical companies and a key player in the UK, where it employs 10,000 people.

As the company has committed to signing up at least ten new SCI Members at its Avlon site in Bristol, it qualifies for our Bronze band. This will give the company 10% off subscription fees, exhibition rates, and advertising in SCI journals and publications.

AstraZeneca will also gain a much greater online presence, being able to post free job ads on SCI’s website and banner ads on C&I’s site — all read by some of the most influential figures in the industry.

‘We are proud to be associated with SCI, and there are a lot of benefits for us,’ Sue Tasker (right), Senior Administrator at AstraZeneca's Avlon site, told SCI Members' News. ‘We will welcome the ease of monitoring our renewals, discounted subscriptions and spending, and the opportunity for our banner to appear in SCI media.
‘The discounted conference fees have encouraged increased membership and it is good to have a point of contact for any queries.’

SCI’s Membership Development Executive, Beth Galloway, said: ‘I am looking forward to SCI establishing a closer relationship between the Bristol & South Western Section and the AstraZeneca Avlon site with a view to encouraging good relations between the community, SCI Members and AstraZeneca’s own goals.’

Noting that AstraZeneca has five other sites around the UK, and many more internationally, Beth added: ‘We are looking forward to rolling out the corporate partner scheme to other sites. It is a great move and benefits Members, and we hope this is just a first step.’
