What is your job there?
I own a newly established renewable company.
Why did you join SCI?
Trinity College, Dublin, has been the headquarters of the
Republic of Ireland Section of SCI for the last 50 or more
years. My professor, Wesley
Cocker (95 now), was founder of the SCI Section in Ireland
in 1947. I also enjoy the networking opportunities in SCI.
What is the best website you have visited lately?
www.bbc.co.uk.
This is an extremely informative site for a variety of topics,
such as business, technology, news and finance.
What is your favourite holiday destination?
Elsinger in Denmark. The home of Hamlet and cheap beer. A
beautiful small town of friendly people.
What would you like to have invented?
Solar photovoltaic cells with energy conversion efficiency
of about 50%.
Who is your hero/heroine?
Peter King, former General Secretary of SCI. A character and
a gentleman.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
Never listen to advice.
What is your measure of success?
Self satisfaction. If you think you have done your task to
the best of your ability within the resources available, it
is success.
Which book would you recommend as a must-read?
The autobiography of Tony Benn, MP.
What is your motto in life?
Enjoy it. This is the only chance you get. Work to live and
dont live to work.
