Where
do you work?
I work for SCI from home, which is near Inverness, on the
edge of the Beauly Firth in the Highlands of Scotland.
What is your job there?
I am part of the membership development team and was the Scotland
Coordinator for a long time.
Why did you join SCI?
I joined when I started working for SCI.
What is the best website you have visited lately?
Google
Earth, it is fantastic. You can use a satellite to view
anywhere in the world. It is powerful enough to zoom down
a street!
What is your favourite holiday destination?
I am happy as long as I am by the sea.
Who is your hero/heroine?
Ayrton Senna. He inspired me to take up motorsports, much
to the worry of my mother.
What would you like to have invented?
The electric car.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
Fits afore you winna go by you, which is Doric
language for what is in front of you in life wont go
past you.
Which book would you recommend as a must read?
The cat who came in from the cold by Deric Longden.
It never fails to put a smile on my face.
With whom would you most like to spend an evening in serious
discussion?
Jacques Cousteau. I loved watching him as a child and would
have loved to have a talk with him.
What is your measure of success?
I have a fantastic son Alex, who puts a sparkle in my day.
Also being co-founder of a new charity for rehoming dogs,
called Best Friends Rehoming Trust. Any offers of old computer
equipment gratefully received!
What is your motto in life?
Enjoy it, as you are only here once.
