All change, but members to stay in the Loop
in the Loop will cease in June, replaced by a concise twice-monthly members' news round-up bound into C&I
A new publication for members of SCI is to be launched in July to succeed in the Loop. Following consultation with members, it was clear that more regular information would be appropriate for readers’ needs and it has been decided to produce a twice-monthly members’ newsletter which will contain all of the information already provided by in the Loop.
The new publication will be ‘bound in’ to each edition of Chemistry & Industry and will provide regular, concise news about the Society, previews and reviews of SCI events and an events calendar. The editorial content and style of the newsletter will be sharpened to complement that of Chemistry & Industry.
Where appropriate, articles will be more technical and scientific in their nature and will reflect the work that SCI members are involved in around the world. Section and group information will continue to be included and contributors will all be provided with writing guidelines.
New format
Obviously, the change in frequency means that there will be a new production schedule. Copy deadlines for future editions will be published with each issue.
We have illustrated this article with front covers from SCI Members' News and its predecessors – from the ‘blue bits’ of the 70s, 80s and 90s, through to in the Loop. The new newsletter will deliver important member information more frequently and in an easy-to-access format. We hope that you will enjoy reading it. If you have any comments or queries please contact us .
The final edition of in the Loopwill be published in June. Thein the Loop team would like to thank those who have contributed to its success and look forward to working with you all again.
