SCI makes the international headlines
SCI and its publications get 400 media mentions

| Times of India report |
In the first two months of 2007, SCI and its publications achieved 400 individual pieces of coverage in the UK and international media. This is a step change from 700 media items throughout 2006, itself an excellent record. Almost all of the coverage mentions the Society, in some shape or form.
Much of this success can be put down to a combination of factors – excellent writers with a keen eye for a story, access to exciting new research from the Society’s peer-reviewed journals, and improvements in relations between the society and the media through active promotion of SCI news.
The increasing interest in news from the SCI highlights the respect that the Society is gaining with both the UK national and international press. SCI and its publications now make regular appearances on the BBC website, in national papers including the Financial Times, the Guardian, the Daily Mail and the Daily Telegraph, as well as coverage on many well respected international websites. Of more topical interest to SCI and its members, many Indian news sites and other media outlets now choose to cover SCI stories, a particularly exciting development as the Society prepares to launch its India office later this year.
Chemistry & Industry has provided many interesting news stories, adapted from research articles from our peer review journals or from independent work and investigative journalism.
