SCI chief executive to chair ‘Laboratories in the chemicals industry’ stream at LAB |
SCI chief executive Andrew Ladds is to chair the ‘Laboratories in the chemicals industry’ stream at LAB, a new, biennial European trade fair and conference devoted to analysis,
bio and laboratory equipment,
which will take place at the ExCel Centre in London’s Docklands from 2 to 4 October 2007.
The chemical conference stream on 2 October will focus on issues of particular interest to laboratories in the chemical industry, including:
- A flow-based approach to synthetic
chemistry
- Key elements of sampling in chemical analysis, process monitoring
and quality control
- Fibre optic spectroscopy and industrial process control
- Strategies for the design and use of high-throughput automation
- Electronic laboratory notebooks
and laboratory informatics
in the chemicals industry
- Case study: Streamlining catalyst preparation
- ‘Green chemistry’ and sustainable
process and product development
- Recent advances in crystallisation
technology
