The energy debate: challenges in materials chemistry
Implementing cleaner power generating technologies, 2 November 2006
This one-day meeting, organised
by the SCI Materials Chemistry
Group and the SCI Scotland
Regional Group, provides a comprehensive
overview of the current
challenges in materials chemistry
that must be met if alternative and
renewable energy sources are to
become viable options in responding
to the energy debate.
With speakers drawn from industry,
academia, and policymakers,
the programme will address
materials challenges in implementing
cleaner power generating
technologies; strategies for
securing sustainable energy supplies;
harnessing biomass as a
fuel supply and feedstock for raw
materials; fuel cell technology
and hydrogen storage; modelling
nuclear fusion materials; and
new materials for partitioning
and transmutation.
The energy debate: challenges in materials chemistry will take place on
2 November 2006 at SCI International
Headquarters,
London. For further information contact
