Water needs IT treatment

Process Engineering Group conference on 17 November 2004

water treatmentIn terms of tonnage alone, the water industry is the UK’s largest chemical production and treatment industry. Now a private, but heavily regulated, industry it is subjected to ever greater pressures in quality control, operational cost efficiency and asset and data management. To respond to these challenges the industry must embrace IT and the tools that it offers. Many IT tools and systems that are used in other process industries could be of huge benefit to the water industry but have not yet been adopted.

On 17 November the conference IT Tools and Systems for the Water Industry will give presentations on the needs of the water industry and will present systems being used in other industries that may meet those needs. It is a joint meeting between the SCI Process Engineering Group and IChemE and will take place at 1 Portland Place, London, UK.
