Hamza Ali
Director of Finance and IT
Hamza
Ali, SCI's Director of Finance and IT, comes from a commercial background
as a management accountant within multi-national companies.
Having studied in the United States, Hamza obtained an MBA from
the University of Minnesota.
He comes to SCI from the charity Coeliac UK, during which
he was instrumental in implementing new systems and enhancing
management information.
Prior to Coeliac UK, Hamza worked for the world's largest
private banknote printing company for 14 years, during which
time he was the financial project manager for £22 million
of capital expenditure.
With a varied role, Hamza's current aim within SCI is to
introduce Best Practice Governance and work with SCI's Chief
Executive Andrew Ladds, to develop a strategic business plan
for the society.
Outside of the daily grind, Hamza is currently training for
the Sahara Desert Walk which takes place in October 2005.
He is hoping to raise £2000 for the Macmillan
Cancer Relief Fund. To support this worthy cause Hamza
will walk for five days covering 100 km of desert in the company
of 40 other dedicated fundraisers.
When he's not crossing deserts, Hamza returns to Amersham
where he lives with wife and daughter (a Bio-Chemist), and
sits back to enjoy a good game of cricket.
Hamza has already demonstrated a great enthusiasm and excitement
regarding his new position within SCI and has spoken of his
dedication, alongside the accounts and IT Teams, to improve
the management information systems and to help take SCI forward
whilst providing added-value services.
