Special issues available
Bioremediation and
enzymes in
grain processing in the news
To help continue to provide its
subscribers with topical, relevant
information on important
scientific issues, SCI’s journals
team has published a further two
special issues – one
in the September 2006 issue of Journal
of Chemical Technology and
Biotechnology on ‘Bioremediation’
and the other in the 30
August 2006 Journal of Science Food
and Agriculture on ‘Enzymes in
grain processing’. These issues
are available online now at Wiley
interscience (www.interscience.wiley.com/jctb and www.
interscience.wiley.com/jsfa).
The bioremediation special issue
features reviews and research
papers on bioreactor-based remediation
technologies. It discusses
the various treatment processes
for industrial and agro-industrial
effluents, including those
containing heavy metals,
halogenated compounds and
other organic contaminants.
The enzymes in grain processing
special issue features papers
presented at the European
Symposium of Enzymes in Grain
Processing 2005.
Cereals are
incorporated into a wide variety of
products and are therefore of great
economic importance. Grains are
often a basal component of animal
feed and the use of enzymes in
cereal usage has become crucial.
This is because of their positive
impact on processing and also
because they improve final product
quality. The papers in this special
issue cover conference sessions
highlighting research and
advances in the field.
