L&NW Regional Group: first AGM
Liverpool and North West Regional Group appoints officers

The first annual general meeting
(AGM) of the new Liverpool & North
West Regional Group was held on 18 May 2006 in
Thornton Heath, Wirral, Merseyside.
The appointment of officers for the
forthcoming year were announced
as: chairman, Alan Heaton; vicechairman,
Mike Pitts; honorary secretary,
Marie Seddon; and honorary
treasurer, Caroline Cordery.
The
inaugural Regional Group meeting followed
the final and 124th AGM of the SCI
Liverpool Regional Group. The wide range
of activities organised by the
Liverpool Regional Group were reviewed
including the successful Kickstart
Careers meeting for undergraduates
and several lectures at the
University of Wales, Bangor. Other
key events during the year included
the Hurter Lecture and the launch of
the Liverpool & North West Regional Group,
formed by the merger of the
Liverpool and Manchester Regional Groups.
