Marketing Executive

12 month contract with possible extension to permanent role. 

An enthusiastic and proactive marketing executive is sought to join a busy marketing team to deliver a range of marketing activities to raise the profile of SCI and promote our events and activities.

SCI is currently going through an exciting period of strategic review, from which it will emerge with a renewed sense of purpose, as a multi-disciplinary society, serving diverse, yet interlinked, scientific sectors in the modern chemical industry. Our strategy is to re-establish and extend our connections with industry, focusing on innovation and building an organisation which is better able to provide real value to new and existing members at all stages of their careers.

The role would suit someone who, although a team player, has the confidence to work autonomously and propose changes to achieve better results. A proactive and positive approach is essential. This varied role offers multiple opportunities to get involved in strategic projects and through this, develop news skills and experience.

Previous experience of working as part of a marketing team to deliver and monitor targeted, data driven on and off-line campaigns would offer a distinct advantage. As well as being a good communicator with a keen eye for detail, we are looking for someone who has experience of creating content for digital and print media, ideally with experience of working with design packages and website content management systems.

Candidates with an interest in or ideally experience of communicating scientific content are particularly encouraged to apply.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

a)   Marketing Campaign Planning and Implementation

  • Generating and implementing exciting new print, email and telemarketing campaigns to support SCI’s activities: events, membership, awards and meeting rooms.
  • Design and produce a range of marketing collateral and promotional materials for marketing campaigns, all within the brand guidelines, budget, and agreed deadlines.
  • Monitor campaigns and provide reports including performance against KPIs and learnings for future campaigns.

 b)   Marketing Data Management

  • Manage the marketing content in the CRM; segment contacts to ensure marketing activities are targeted.
  • Produce reports from the CRM to support the management team to plan and deliver strategies.

 c)   Website

  • Work with the marketing manager to maintain the SCI website.
  • Assist with the development of specific web content relating to new initiatives.
