The Agriculture and Environment Technical Interest Group is dedicated to all aspects of managing
rural land and focuses primarily on agricultural production, including
crop and animal production, and their impact on terrestrial and aquatic
environments. The Group is also involved in exploring the introduction
and implementation of sustainable systems in agricultural production.
The Group achieves these aims through its series of conferences and meetings.
These events provide a stimulating forum for those involved in academic,
environmental or industrial research, product development, marketing,
policy making, lobbying, farming and growing to exchange opinions and
knowledge.
The Group is also closely associated with SCI's premier peer-reviewed
publication, the Journal of Science, Food and Agriculture through which
the proceedings of many of its meetings are published. The Group's Members
come from academia, industry and the general population and all share
a strong interest in developing environmentally responsible and sustainable
agricultural production.
