Current Ramsay Fellows

We are interested in news of all our Ramsay Fellows, both former and current, and we would be delighted to hear from you with details of where you are now, the research you are currently undertaking or have undertaken previously, and any honours or distinctions you may have achieved.

Currently serving Ramsay Fellows

Ramsay Fellowships for 2016-18 were awarded to the following:

  • Dr Piermanuele Canepa - based in the Department of Chemistry, University of Bath. The title of Dr Canepa’s research project is: Theoretical (principally DFT) investigations of energy storage material.
  • Dr Nicholas Chilton - based in the School of Chemistry, University of Manchester. The title of Dr Chilton’s research project is: Electrostatic design to allow engineering of magnetic properties of lanthanides.
  • Dr Sacha Noimark - based in the Department of Chemistry, University College London. The title of Dr Noimark’s research project is: Development of ultrasound/ photoacoustic probes using novel deposition methods.

Ramsay Fellowships for 2015-17 have been awarded to the following:

  • Dr Joseph Bear - based in the Department of Chemistry at UCL and co-sponsored by the Department. The title of Dr Bear's research project is: Synthesis of thermochromic vanadium dioxide nanocrystals and thin films from single source precursors.
  • Dr Dale Brownson - based in the Faculty of Science & Engineering at Manchester Metropolitan University and co-sponsored by the Faculty. The title of Dr Brownson's research project is: In-Situ Characterisation of Interfacial Graphene Electrochemistry and 2D Related Structures
  • Dr Jonathan Foster - based in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Sheffield and co-sponsored by the Department. The title of Dr Foster's research project is: Metal-organic nanosheets
  • Dr Caroline Knapp - based in the Department of Chemistry at UCL and co-sponsored by the Department. The title of Dr Knapp's research project is: Designer Precursor Development for Aluminium, Copper and Silver Inks.
