SCI is pleased to share news from the Technology Strategy Board (TSB).

TSB have recently delivered two initiatives to promote the future of science.

Science Meets Design
On Monday 28th October, TSB hosted Science Meets Design, an evening of discussion with the Minister of State for Universities and Science, David Willetts. The event brought together leading thinkers in design and science to discuss how greater collaboration can drive forward the UK economy.

In the first collaboration of its kind, and in partnership with the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), the event was jointly hosted at the Science Museum and Design Museum with a live link-up between the venues. As part of the evening, David Willetts opened the event at the Design Museum and then travelled across to the Science Museum to provide closing words.

Both events are available to view online. You can also receive a copy of the key recommendations from the event by registering your email address on the Science Meets Design website (accessible below).

Future if Here
TSB in collaboration with the Design Museum are running a photography competition. The competition is asking for people to submit images that they think represent the future. The best entries will be uploaded to the Future is Here web site (accessible below).

The competition is still running, so don’t delay in submitting your photograph.
