He then joined the London Regional Group and organised several events, including a 'Chemistry and Music from America' evening. He received a BSc in Chemistry from Queen Mary College, London, and a PhD from Battersea College of Technology in London on 'Redox polymerisation of acrylonitrile with diazonium salt/hypophosphorus acid initiation'.

Dr Warson worked for Vinyl Products, before becoming Technical Manager, Polymers, for Dunlop's chemical products division. Since 1970 he was a chemical consultant and expert witness.
