Website Manager (12 Month Maternity Cover)

Salary: £26,000 - £30,000

SCI (Society of Chemical Industry) is currently going through an exciting period of growth. Our charitable objective is to promote science-based innovation and to ensure that society benefits from developments in science. The Society covers very diverse areas from new medicinal techniques to new forms of sustainable and renewable energy. It is an exciting but diverse portfolio of content.

To support our growth, we are recruiting a Website Manager. This 12-month role will primarily involve the management of SCI’s website with some support for design activities.

We are looking for an individual with experience of managing website content across a large website with a strong international presence. The ideal candidate will have experience of editing and publishing content on a broad range of topics as well the ability to source relevant and engaging images.

We are looking for someone with a methodical approach to managing the website, with content being posted daily, and with an eye for detail ensuring that content posted is of a high professional standard.

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with an interest in science and with experience in Sitecore. If you are looking for a role where you can turn your ideas into actions, we would love to hear from you.

  • Daily management of SCI website.
  • Communications planning.

Knowledge, skills & experience

  • Demonstrable experience of maintaining web content and web banners on a professional website; experience of HTML and Sitecore content management system would be ideal.
  • Experience with Photoshop preferable.
  • Computer literate, with a good level of knowledge and competence with Microsoft (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Good written and spoken English; ability to edit digital copy.
  • A creative approach to challenges and opportunities.
  • An organised and methodical approach to work.
  • A team player, able to interact tactfully with colleagues, Members, suppliers and others.
  • Self-motivated.
