Dr Roland Harper (1916 - 1992) played an influential and leading role in shaping the modern face of consumer and sensory science.
He is respected still as an important figure in the growth and application of sensory science, and remembered with fondness by SCI's Consumer and Sensory Research Group. Prior to this Group's formation, he was an active contributor in the Sensor Panel of the SCI's Food Group.
