Introducing SCI Ambassador, Chloé R. de Valcy

Chloe de Valcy"SCI has allowed me the opportunity to exchange ideas in a multi-discipline environment with academics, peers, industrial speakers and to broaden my knowledge in chemistry."

What are your research interests?
Formulation Science, Transdermal Drug Delivery Systems, Aesthetic Medicine and Genetics.

How did you first get involved with SCI?
While studying at Greenwich University as a postgraduate student in Formulation Science, I needed to immerse myself in the chemistry world as my background and expertise were predominantly in Business and Design. After signing up as an SCI student member and attending events organised by SCI, I was invited to become a SCI Ambassador.

What do you hope to gain from your involvement with SCI?
SCI acts as a bridge between science and business offering a platform to network with other scientists and industry leaders. This portal has served as a vehicle between my academic and professional life.

Why would you encourage your peers to join SCI?
SCI facilitates events and publishes information on many interesting areas of research. The society gives scientists the opportunity to network and build alliances across numerous disciplines and industries. I have particularly taken advantage of the public evening lectures and other interesting activities conducted by SCI and their partners. SCI has allowed me the opportunity to exchange ideas in a multi-discipline environment with academics, peers, industrial speakers and to broaden my knowledge in chemistry. For anyone wanting to further their education, career or wanting to forge relationships with other scientists, SCI is an excellent conduit to do so.
