SCI's Day of Science & Careers returns on 27 April to London

03 February 2015

3 Feb 2015

The Day of Science & Careers is designed for Early Career People with a particular focus on providing information about the wide range of careers covered in the chemical, chemistry using and other science based industries.

Over 70% of people working in the chemical related sector work in SMEs (small and medium enterprises) so you will hear presentations about them as well as about large, multinational organisations such as Unilever. We will also hear the perspective of someone working as a consultant.

So if you want to find out how to start out in academia or industry, or hear about what it is like to work in the petrochemicals, pharma, the biosciences industries, working on a plant and in health and safety, or research into personal care and cosmetic products, this is the event for you.

The formal part of the meeting will close with tips on applying for your first job and there will be opportunities to ask questions and make suggestions, both at the meeting itself and over the informal wine and nibbles networking session that follows. The latter is also a great opportunity to make new connections.

Those who came to the 2014 meeting reported it to be an outstanding, informative and highly enjoyable day.  We hope that this year's event only builds on the positive experience had by those who attended last year.

The event, is open to all (you do not have to be an SCI member to attend), and includes lunch, refreshments and wine and nibbles.

Please click on the link below if you would like to book on to the event. In previous years this meeting has been very popular so early booking is advised.

We hope to see you there!
