SCI is pleased to announce the launch of a new SCI Members Support Fund for 2026.
At SCI, we understand that life doesn’t always go as planned, and are completely aware of the uncertainty faced by many of our members, with many organisations reducing job numbers and opportunities for STEM graduates not as high as they have previously been.
This fund is for all current eligible* SCI members who are unable to pay their membership fee due to unemployment or underemployment, as well as those who have recently graduated from university and are unable to find work. These members will have the chance to apply for complimentary or discounted membership for 2026. We believe that no member should lose access to our network, resources, and opportunities because of temporary hardship. Our goal is to ensure you can continue benefiting from SCI’s community, knowledge-sharing, and career support during challenging times. Our members are of vital importance in our mission to accelerate science out of the laboratory for the benefit of society.
Who can apply?
To be eligible, you must:
- Be a current paid-up SCI member of at least 12 months or have been a paid-up member in 2 of the last 3 years.
- Demonstrate financial hardship specifically due to loss of a job or role or, in the case of a student, unable to find work.
- Provide supporting documentation where necessary.
How to apply
If you think you may be eligible:
- Contact us using the application form below.
- The applications will be reviewed by our team in the strictest of confidence.
