The Ivan Levinstein Memorial Lecture is given in honour of Ivan Levinstein who was one of the founding members of SCI and who was SCI President (1901-1903).
On 19 October 2016, the SCI Liverpool and North West Group, in partnership with the Society of Dyers and Colourists, Textiles Institute and the University of Bolton, held the 15th Ivan Levinstein Memorial Lecture.
The lecture was given by Prof Richard Horrocks, SCI Fire and Materials Chair and Research Professor, University of Bolton, on the role of technical textiles in fire protection.
