Caroline Newton is a communications expert with over 25 years' experience in diplomacy, journalism, government and politics. She specialises in public affairs, public relations and stakeholder engagement.
Before taking up the role as Head of External Affairs at SCI, Caroline served as the Prime Minister’s senior special advisor for communications at No 10 Downing Street. Her career started as diplomat, in eastern Europe after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Subsequently, as a journalist at the BBC she produced leading news programmes including Today, 10 O’Clock News and Newsnight. She was a senior official at the Greater London Authority ahead of the 2012 Olympics in 2012 and has worked in a range of communications and advisory roles in the private sector.
