Charity Projects Administrator

This is a great entry level opportunity for someone looking to gain or build on their experience across several different administrative areas. SCI is a membership organisation and registered charity with individual members in over 70 countries.

The Charity Projects Administrator (12-month contract with possible extension) is sought to work within the Executive and Management teams. This a predominantly office-based role and will primarily help assist the Executive Team as well as providing administrative assistance to the Management teams.

Primary responsibility: To support the Executive Team

  • Assisting the Personal Assistant with daily administration, routine filing and ad hoc projects.
  • Provide administrative support for governance meetings.
  • Organising meetings, attending meetings and taking notes if required.
  • Provide support for HR related administration and updating policies and procedures.
  • Supporting and liaising with the Personal Assistant in maintaining a central hub for governance administration.
  • Assisting with the completion of PowerPoint presentations.
  • Preparing and collating documents and maintaining up to date records and files.
  • General photocopying and other daily administrative tasks.

Support to the Charity:

  • Provide administrative support to Senior Managers as required.
  • Assisting with data inputting and keeping records up to date.
  • Provide support with the administration of events.
  • Assist in maintaining diaries, organising travel and meeting arrangements.
  • Some reception cover and assistance.

Knowledge, skills and experience required for this position

  • At least 2 years’ administrative experience or administration graduate or related degree (desirable).
  • Understanding of a charity/membership organisation (desirable).
  • Strong organisational, communication/customer service skills and ability to multitask and be proactive.
  • High level of computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite; preferably databases and PowerPoint
  • Ability and willingness to act on own initiative both individually and as a member of a team.
  • High aptitude for spelling and grammar and accuracy in data entry and proof-reading.
  • Some understanding of how to use Social Media and a desire to learn.
