Scientific journals cover a specified range of topics, with some being extremely narrow and others quite broad. The number of scientists publishing on particular topics changes with funding and scientific trends; journals with a narrow scope are more affected by scientific trends than others. SCI’s journal Pest Management Science has flourished by navigating changing research and technology since its founding.
Fluoro-polymers at end-of-life
Fluoropolymers represent a negligible share of total EU waste, less than 0.01% by mass (approximately 23,500t/year), and rarely occur as a separate waste-stream. Because they are typically used in very small quantities, often embedded in coatings, seals, linings or insulation within complex products, their end-of-life fate is determined by the treatment of host products rather than by the material itself.
HCP impurity risk assessment
Host cell proteins (HCPs) have long been recognised as critical process-related impurities in the development and manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals. Regulatory expectations clearly emphasise the need to monitor and control residual HCPs throughout development, yet the way these impurities are assessed is rapidly evolving.
