Introducing SCI Ambassador, Katherine Geogheghan

Katherine Geogheghan

“SCI is a great way to meet new people and attend events to showcase your work and build your network, and it’s a community that cares about its members.”

What are your research interests?
Physical Organic Chemistry: Cross-coupling, mechanistic studies, kinetic investigation

How did you first get involved with SCI?
I was recommended to join the SCI by a postdoc in my research group.

What do you hope to gain from your involvement with SCI?
First-hand experience from professionals and peers, and to continue to grow my network and learn more about the scientific industry. I really enjoy being an active member of a team, and think this will be a great opportunity to further enhance my skills and knowledge.

Why would you encourage your peers to join SCI?
Everyone I’ve spoken to from SCI has been wonderfully helpful. They also run competitions and offer awards and bursaries to boost your opportunities while you study.
