National Retrosynthesis Competition
This competition will showcase the calibre of UK chemists from both industry and academia and provide a platform for them to demonstrate their retrosynthetic and forward synthetic prowess.
Messel Travel Bursary
Messel Bursaries are funded by the Messel Trust Fund for postgraduate students to support their attendance at meetings and/or laboratory visits for activities related to chemical science (including all life sciences), engineering and technology. Funding will not be given for visits which are part of the normal course of a co-sponsored PhD (e.g. visiting the partner site).

- Students carrying out postgraduate research
- Preference will normally be given to those wishing to travel outside their country of residence, especially if they wish to work in a laboratory abroad
- PhD students
- Early career stages
- Up to 10 years after completion of first degree, or 10 years after starting a first position in business, science or engineering.
