Best Practice for Potholes and Patching

Organised by:

SCI's Construction Materials Group

SCI, London, UK

Registration Closed

This event is no longer available for registration.

Synopsis

This one day seminar will focus on the continuing issue of the potholes that plague the nation’s roads; how they develop, how to fix them and how to avoid them in the first place.

Over the past few years potholes have become firmly established with the travelling public as a symbol of poorly performing infrastructure, with extensive coverage in print, news and social media. Much of the coverage has highlighted the role of harsh weather over recent winters - cold, wet or both - though issues of funding, materials and maintenance practices have also been raised. The SCI’s Construction Materials Group has organised this event to provide an update on how the highway maintenance community has responded to the potholes problem and raise awareness of the tools, techniques and advice that have been developed. The seminar will provide a forum for the sharing of best practice and presentations from speakers representing asset owners, service providers and the research community will give a wide perspective on the work that has been carried out.

Attendees

The seminar is aimed at those who practice highway maintenance such as asphalt suppliers and contractors, highway authorities, engineering consultants and university transportation and engineering departments.
