Synopsis
Join SCI's Biotechnology Group for a lecture which will explore the market for bioplastics and bio-based chemicals in the UK and from an international perspective. There will be a focus on “Industrial Biotechnology” and how the next generation of platform chemicals and materials will be derived from bio-based inputs and will rest on the industrialisation of biology through the use of synthetic biology coupled with traditional chemical approaches.  The speaker will examine the UK’s position on these technologies and will discuss the technical and commercial drivers for success in the market drawing on 10 years of experience of running a bioplastics technology business.
