    Bright SCIdea Challenge

    If you are an undergraduate or postgraduate student based in the UK or ROI with an idea for a scientific solution to a global problem, form a team of 3-4 and enter the Bright SCIdea Challenge 2019!

    The winners will receive £5,000!

    SCI launched the Bright SCIdea Challenge to provide  a unique opportunity for students to develop their business skills by turning a scientific innovation into a carefully planned and costed business plan.


    Key Dates:

    Enter your team and submit your business plan – 15 February 2019

    Submit your business plan for your final SCIdea for a chance to compete at our competition final.

    Competition final – 19 March 2019

    Teams will pitch their SCIdea to a panel of judges and get to network with members of SCI's expert community.

    Successful teams will be invited to SCI HQ in London on Tuesday 19 March 2019 to battle in out in front of our panel of expert judges.

    This year, the winners will win £5,000 and 1st and 2nd runners up will both receive £500!

    We selected six teams to attend the very first Bright SCIdea Challenge final, where they pitched their businesses to a judging panel of four experienced, successful senior businesspeople and innovators – and the winning team walked away with £1,000!
