    Bright SCIdea Challenge

    If you are an undergraduate or postgraduate student* with an idea for a scientific solution to a global problem, why not form a team of 3-4 and enter the Bright SCIdea Challenge 2020? The winning team will receive £5,000.

    SCI launched the Bright SCIdea Challenge to provide a unique opportunity for students to develop their business skills by turning a scientific innovation into a carefully planned and costed business plan.

    Deadline to submit your business plan
    Submit your business plan for SCIdea for a chance to compete at our competition final.

    17 March 2020

    Competition final
    Teams will pitch their SCIdea to a panel of judges and get to network with members of SCI's expert community.

    Finished your research? Then it's finally time to fill out your business plan. You have until Friday 14 February 2020 to submit this document.

    Successful teams will be invited to SCI HQ in London on Tuesday 17 March 2020 to battle it out in front of our panel of expert judges.

    This year, the winners will win £5,000, 1st runners up will receive £1,000 and 2nd runners up will receive £500!



    *students must be studying at a university in the UK or Republic of Ireland.
