Synopsis

Are you a university student* and budding entrepreneur with a plausible concept for a product or service? Wondering how you go about commercialising your product and building a business? Enter the Bright SCIdea challenge now and we will provide you with free, accredited business planning training and give you the chance to win a £5,000 cash prize!

Sign up for business development and entrepreneurship training delivered by experts from the SCI network.  This will be held on Friday 6 December 2019 at the SCI in London.  To register for the free training day please register via the "Register for this event" button.


How does it work?
  • Form a team of 3-4 University students*
  • Develop a plausible scientific concept a with a societal benefit
  • Register your team here
  • Visit www.soci.org/videos for access to our exclusive business training videos
  • Attend the Bright SCIdea Challenge 2020 training day
  • Turn your concept into a compelling product or service
  • Develop a business plan to commercialise your innovation

*Students must be studying at a university in the UK or Republic of Ireland.

Following the business training, teams will be asked to submit a business plan by midnight on Friday 14 February 2020.

Shortlisted teams will be invited to the final, which will take place in London on Tuesday 17 March 2020 with funding for travel and accommodation organised by SCI.
