Organised by:
Canterbury Christ Church Uni and then Sandbanks Farm
This event is no longer available for registration.
A visit to Canterbury Christ Church University and Edward Vinson Propagation. The later nursery is where Edward Vinson began breeding and propagation approximately 30 years ago. 10 years ago it only produced strawberry plants but today it also produces raspberries. This visit provides an opportunity to see the propagation of strawberry plants, including inside Edward Vinson everbearer and outside junebearer tray strawberries.
The starting point will be the main entrance of the Canterbury Christ Church University, North Holmes Campus, which has a circular fountain. The gateway is the fourth entrance about halfway up the flint wall which is the boundary of the campus on North Holmes Road.
The nearest car park to North Holmes Road is the one on the ring road under the walls. There are always pay and display spaces available on North Holmes Road but it is only for 2 hours. For a map and further details click here.
SCI accessibility grants are available to support SCI members with disabilities, long term health conditions, those who require a carer, and members who are nursing parents to attend SCI events. Download an application form to apply for a grant.
