The presentation will review the wide applications that date fruits and seeds have, in both the food sector and industry as a whole, and will include where the current research is at.
The talk will include a background to date fruits: a historical view of dates as food, their different varieties and ripening characteristics, current world production, nutritional content, evidence of health properties, sustainability, and other beneficial uses they possess.
SCI accessibility grants are available to support SCI members with disabilities, long term health conditions, those who require a carer, and members who are nursing parents to attend SCI events. Download an application form to apply for a grant.
