Synopsis

Electronic gadgetry is progressing fast. Its associated display technology, mostly based on flat and rigid display screens, has become a ubiquitous item of our era. Technology savvy companies have proposed the next generation of display, a flexible display screen.

This technology faces its own challenges. In manufacturing, materials and process are in development. In ergonomics, the new prototypes are undergoing testing and redesign and potential new uses have to be found.

Flexible display is a technology that promises a wide range of applications, and offers a real chance for the UK to get to the top in the world of electronics.

This event is of interest to technologists, manufacturers, chemists and business people involved in display manufacturing and design.

Poster Competition

Poster submissions are invited on the topic of R&D into flexible display technologies. To make a submission, please send a 250 word abstract entitled “Developments in flexible display technologies - poster abstract”, by 15 February 2013 to conferences@soci.org. All submissions will be acknowledged.
