Synopsis
The third Innovations in crop protection conference brings together leading researchers and industry experts to explore cutting-edge solutions for safeguarding global food security whilst minimizing environmental impact. This event will showcase advancements in biological control through chemistry and biological technologies with integrated pest management. Through interactive presentations, a keynote talk and networking opportunities, the conference aims to foster innovation and partnerships that support resilient agricultural systems and a greener future in crop protection.
Attendees

This event will be of interest to anyone working in industry or in academia on synthetic organic chemistry methodology, new modes of action in agrochemical R&D, chemical biology techniques for novel modalities and innovations in organic chemistry. Attendees will gain insights into emerging trends in modern crop protection research strategies and collaborative strategies driving sustainable practices in crop protection.

Programme

The programme will be confirmed in due course.

SCI’s Fine Chemicals Group and Agrisciences groups are committed to promoting diversity and equality in the chemical sciences. We aim to identify high quality speakers for all our conferences with full inclusivity where attendees from all backgrounds are welcome. We are open to offering flexible presentation options.

Accessibility Grants

SCI accessibility grants are available to support SCI members with disabilities, long term health conditions, those who require a carer, and members who are nursing parents to attend SCI events. Download an application form to apply for a grant.

Exhibition and Sponsorship

For further information and prices, please download the one-day sponsorship pack.

Call for posters

Contributions are invited from early-stage researchers and PhD students working on chemistry that could be applied towards novel innovations for crop protection, for example: synthetic organic chemistry, natural product chemistry, chemical biology applied to relevant pest targets, new approaches towards the design of sustainable active ingredients. The objective for the competition is to identify posters which best explain the outcomes of the research, and also in the context of the potential for commercialisation. There will be voucher prizes of £100 for 1st place and £50 for 2nd place.

An abstract of maximum 250 words (250 words does not include author names, affiliations, references or figure captions) indicating title, authors and institution should be sent to conferences@soci.org by Friday 28 August 2026 with the subject line “Innovations in Crop Protection III - poster submission”. Please download an SCI_Abstract_Template.
