Meet Mendeleev, the Man and his Matrix

Organised by:

SCI's London Group in partnership with UCL's Chemical & Physical Society

UCL, London, UK

Registration Closed

This event is no longer available for registration.

Synopsis
Meet Mendeleev, the man and his matrix will be delivered by the bearded Mendeleev 'himself' in 19th century costume. He will talk about his personal life and his career. Of course he will describe his formulation of a periodic law, (he never called it a periodic table), and its subsequent somewhat reluctant acceptance. Its particular, relevance to the recognition of the noble gas group by Ramsay at UCL and the justification for the periodic table by physicist Henry Moseley will be discussed.
