Synopsis

Established in 2014, the presentation of the Young Lipid Scientist Award 2017 continues to recognise the excellence and emerging talent in research related to lipids, in any field across the physical and life sciences and engineering.

The six shortlisted candidates will give an oral presentation during the event on Monday 18 June. Presentations will be 15 minutes long, with a further 15 minutes available for questions. After the presentations, the winner will be selected by a vote of the Lipids Group Committee and will receive a prize of £100 and a certificate. All the shortlisted candidates will receive one year complimentary membership of SCI (worth £25).

The winner will also be eligible to give an oral presentation at EuroFedLipid 2018 in Belfast, UK for which SCI will cover expenses up to the value of £400 to attend. A report from Sarah-Beth Amos, who represented SCI by presenting at the EuroFedLipid 2017 meeting in Uppsala, Sweden can be found here.
