Canada International Group

SCI's Canada International Group provides a link between academia, business and industry and works closely with the Chemical Institute of Canada.

Purpose

Following agreement between SCI, the Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC) and the SCI Canada Trustees in October 2012, SCI Canada became a forum of the CIC and will be promoted as the industrial/business focused arm of CIC. As a forum, it maintains its own executive committee, with continued SCI UK representation by SCI Member Derek Heywood.

CIC is the umbrella organisation encompassing the Canadian Society for Chemistry, the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering and the Canadian Society for Chemical Technology. SCI Canada and the CIC have been working together to deliver the successful Annual Awards Dinner since 2006, so the establishment of SCI Canada as a business forum of CIC offers natural progression for both organisations.
