SCI's Day of Science & Careers returns on 27 April to London. The Day of Science & Careers is designed for Early Career People with a particular focus on providing information about the wide range of careers covered in the chemical, chemistry using and other science based industries.

SCI Scholarships - application process now open

SCI 2014 Scholars

Each year, SCI offers an opportunity for second year PhD students to apply for a Scholarship to assist with the increasing costs of study. An SCI Scholarship, worth £5,000 split across two years, gives the recipients an opportunity to broaden their network, their skills and their knowledge via dedicated early careers events and mentoring opportunities offered as part of the SCI Scholarship scheme.

SCI members who are in the early stages of their career are invited to apply for a travel bursary to attend a conference, or to support travel in connection with their work and development. 

Farewell to Materials Chemistry Group Chair

The Materials Chemistry group thanks and bids farewell to its Chair, Dr David Birkett, whose contributions breathed life into the group, including the organisation of a successful multi day conference on polymers and materials science activity in Ireland. It also welcomes its new chair, Prof Bob Bradley of Oxford University, who has been an active member of the Group for more than fifteen years.
